The Woodland Hills Academy Library is a safe, supportive, and innovative learning community where every student is inspired and valued as they develop the 21st-century skills essential for success in a rapidly changing world. Rooted in the school’s mission to nurture creative minds and independent thinkers, the library serves as the heart of inquiry, discovery, and collaboration.
Through equitable access to diverse resources, technology, and ideas, the library empowers students to think critically, read widely, and communicate effectively. It fosters curiosity, creativity, and ethical responsibility while encouraging a lifelong love of learning. By promoting digital literacy, information fluency, and global awareness, the library helps students grow as compassionate, thoughtful citizens who contribute positively within and beyond the school community.

Little Free Library
Functioning on the honor system, the Little Free Library allows members of the community to take a book or share a book in a free book exchange.
There is a Little Free Library app that you can get from the App Store or Google Play. This app will help you locate where there are Little Free Libraries near you.
Book Fair Dates
Scholastic has a resource called Storyvoice, a site that hosts free weekly live events where authors read and speak to your students about books they have written. Next month, on FRI., APR 4 @ 8:30 AM PDT, Andrea Beatriz Arango author of the book, Something Like Home, will be featured for a live event.

April is School Library Month and there are some ways to celebrate school libraries this month.
#1 You can visit our school library and check out books!
#2 Participate in a national contest (grand and second prize winners will receive prizes).
- Participating is easy:
Snap a pic or shoot a video showcasing your favorite thing about your library. - Post to Instagram, X, Threads, or on the I Love Libraries Facebook page with the hashtag #HowILibrary.
- And don’t forget to tag your library to let them know how much they are appreciated!

Here are the Official Rules.
The Los Angeles Public Library (LAPL) hosts an amazing event called Your Author Series which features various authors and illustrators. They have an upcoming event on November 18th, 2022, starting at 4:00 PM. The great thing about this author talk is you can connect to it online. The two authors featured for this day’s event are young adult author Zahra Omar Shansab and children’s author Bahram Rahman.
